Going to Blue Ridge, GA

Everything you need to know about the south's best mountain town

Everything you need to know about the south's best mountain town Everything you need to know about the south's best mountain town

Hungry?

Blue Ridge has dozens of awesome places to eat and a wide variety of choices.

Our faves

Places we take visiting friends & family for a unique and satisfying experience.

The Black Sheep

This is always our top choice to recommend or bring friends to. They do brunch, dinner and drinks extremely well and raised the bar on Blue Ridge upscale dining. We're excited for the opening of their sister restaurant, Grace, which will bring a top tier steakhouse experience to downtown. They also own the cool hangout The Dogwood, 2 doors down.  Get excited.

Chester Brunnenmeyer's Bar and Grill

The best wings in town (actually tied with Boat Dock Bar & Grill) plus a fun and welcoming bar and pub grub. The lines at this Main Street spot can be brutal (especially when the train is in town) but they recently rolled out an online wait list which helps a lot.  You had me at wings.

Harvest on Main

The OG of Main Street fine dining, this is a sure bet for local treats like smoked trout.  Look here for a downtown & delicious meal.  Bonus points for their cozy Italian sister restaurant Cucina Rustica.

Whiskey & Water

A welcome addition with a great bar and some excellent seafood options. We're not that far from the sea - or the bar.

The General Ledger

Another newer addition to downtown, this former bank offers dining in the original bank vault and a good mix of date night options and family lunch fare. No free toaster but good eats & vibes.

Fightingtown Tavern

A reliable bar and grille with a rock and roll theme and patio overlooking Main Street. Dude - tunes, grub & drinks.

Misty Mountain Hops

A little more of a local spot with solid bar food and a nice staff. More music & good bar food.

ROE

In a cool downtown location (which will hopefully make the courtyard it shares a more hangable spot), this fine dining option brings a sophisticated seafood forward menu for a great night out.   Step up your game here.

The Tavern at Old Toccoa Farm

A great upscale but cozy retreat in the refined setting of this new club development, You don't need to be a member or homeowner to enter the gates and beautiful grounds but you need a reservation. Tee off here for classic upscale tavern food & drinks.

Rum Cake Lady Cuban Cafe

This place has a cult like following with awesome Cuban sandwiches  coffee, empanadas and more.  Love picking up sandwiches on the way in or out of town as they will not disappoint. Head south now.

Toccoa Riverside Restaurant

After a fire burnt the original down, they rebuilt and still offer fantastic local trout (try the pecan trout) and the best river views.  So relaxing & good.

Boat House bar & Grill

Awesome spot overlooking the lake and marina. All outdoors with an inviting bar, great wings and very chill & fun spot to spend an afternoon.

Other cool local spots

Places we like or have heard good things about.

Cantaberry - always highly rated and great for sandwiches and soups.

Southern Charm - never heard anyone say a bad thing about this affordable place for comfort food.

Carroll's BBQ - a local institution with some serious 'que.

Margo's Bistro & Deli - still have not made it here but we have heard it is an awesome Polish experience with authentic food and drink.

Las 2 Hustecas - a ramshackle store with a few tables  we love to get some killer Mexican to take back to the cabin.

Oscar Chilli's

Pizza - everyone's favorite, Blue Ridge has some options to get your pie ON

Masseria Kitchen & Bar - a hidden but solid spot off main street.

Blue Jeans - a local favorite for pies and wings.

Mystic Mountain - a fun, hippie pizza paradise.

Cucinellas - a welcome addition to downtown in a thriving new development.

Coffee

Several options have emerged for your caffeine fix.

Mountain Mama's Coffee Lounge  - cool spot in the back of the Blue Ridge Inn.

Das Kaffe Haus - main street's option for some great coffee drinks.

Bigfoot Biscuit Co - The Dogwood's morning spot offers cappuccinos and bloodies with their signature biscuits.
